Greek Immigration Cuts Through Bureaucracy

Greek migration authorities have managed to cut through the bureaucratic backlog. In April 2025, 52,821 applications were pending review; by July, the number had fallen to 47,909.
Of all residence-by-investment applications filed in 2024, 42% have already been processed. In July 2025 alone, Greece reviewed a record 2,772 applications, while also receiving 511 new submissions and approving 734.
Today, obtaining a Greek residence permit can take as little as two months if documents are submitted through the decentralized office in Athens.
